Audiences have three chances this weekend to catch the Beaty Theater's bubbly, colorful production of Hairspray. This big and bold family-friendly musical piles on the laughter, romance and deliriously fun songs as high as a 1960s bouffant hairstyle. Based on the 1988 John Waters film, this infectious Tony Award-winning show follows Tracy Turnblad, a quirky, plus-sized teen who turns Baltimore upside down as she follows her dream to dance on a local dance party show. When her dream comes true, Tracy is transformed from social outcast to sudden star. But will it last?
